BELLINZONA, SWITZERLAND. Peptone opened an advanced biophysics laboratory developed specifically for experimental studies of [intrinsically disordered proteins](/science/), or IDPs.

Located in the heart of historic Bellinzona, the laboratory was designed to serve as an experimental innovation hub for Peptone's growing research team.

> "Our newly opened translational biophysics laboratory will vastly accelerate our mission to bring first-in-class protein-based therapeutics against intrinsically disordered protein targets," said Peptone CEO Dr. Kamil Tamiola.

IDPs lack a single fixed structure but play important roles in health and disease. The Bellinzona laboratory strengthens Peptone's ability to combine atomic-level experimental biophysics with supercomputing and machine learning in the search for new ways to address these historically difficult targets.
